Q: IPHONE WILL NOT SWITCH ON!!!

Hi guys, right so recently my iPhone 6 had been dropped and screen was replaced. After replacing my screen, I can't get anything on the new screen nor will anything show on the old screen. The phone has basically died on me but earlier after holding the home butting and power button for over a minute and nothing has worked. The home button was heating up and I really need this to work, is my phone dead? Is it fixable? iTunes isn't reading the phone at all. Is it possible the heated shield is a problem? If anyone has a solution please let me know, I'm lost without an iPhone. I'm not sure what iOS it's on as I haven't been able to update it off course as it hast been on.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.3, null

Who replaced the screen ... was it an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center?

If not, you will know better next time.

If so, take the iPhone back where the screen was replaced and seek assistance there.

Sounds really frustrating.  Your story has a few conflicting variables so the short answer is: You have a hardware defect of some sort!

History of recent DIY screen swap would point to long screw damage--using the wrong screw to screw in the LCD shield.  But a phone with long screw damage usually has no image but will connect to iTunes.

The phone getting hot by home button is symptomatic of an entirely different problem--heat = short, so again a hardware defect in the phone.

In any event it is the same two choices---Go to the Apple Store and if you're in warranty get replacement, out of warranty buy refurbished phone.  Or forego those options and find someone near you who is competent with iPhone motherboard repair and have them repair this phone.

It's only one choice. As the screen was replaced by someone outside of Apple any remaining warranty is void, and Apple will not honor an out-of-warranty replacement.

I replaced the screen and iv replaced numerous of screens and they all worked grand, this one has decided to mess up for some reason. Would it be possible the heated plate is the problem as the cable is green/brown colour and it has burned? I seen the smoke coming from the flexi cable while it was connected to the phone. Thanks for he reply.

Smoke coming from any electronic device is a death warrant.

You can try anything you want to try, but the probability of fix it is pretty close to zero.
