Q: "Interactive ePub books"?

This week's latest release of iBooks Author 2.5 hails the new feature "Interactive ePub books." Does this mean that an interactive, MULTI-TOUCH eBook created using iBooks Author will retain rich interactivity in a more broadly accessible ePub format, so that Windows users can now enjoy such content as well?

We're all waiting, of course (breath held), for the ability to market our books more widely, and since the dominant OS is still Windows, any way to make this achievable would be welcome. Thanks in advance for any comments.

There have been templates for epub in iBA for some time now already.  The new version has new templates.  The only way to find out whether they meet your particular needs for interactive features is to try them out.  Let us know what you think.

Thanks, Tom. Actually I've been working on a book for some time now, since IBA v1, and was hoping this new "Interactive ePub books" feature would allow either an easy transition or export to a version that would allow broader distribution. I really can't start a new ePub template at this late stage, and see no conversion option. So unless there's a path I'm missing here, I'm outa luck.
