I understand that you've already downloaded macOS Sierra and you're looking to install it now that you've cleared up some space. I know it's important to have up to date software, so I'm happy to help.
After downloading macOS Sierra, you can find the installer in your Applications folder. This article has more information:
How to get macOS Sierra - Apple SupportIf you quit the installer instead of clicking Continue, you can open it later from your Applications folder, Launchpad, or Spotlight. Look for a file named Install macOS Sierra. During installation, your Mac might restart several times. It then performs some initial setup tasks in the background. While those tasks are underway, activities such as using Spotlight or Mail might not seem as fast as they were before.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Cheers!
