Q: Lost Macbook not in the list of devices

Hi!

My Macbook Air was lost. When I try to access my device in the apple ID account so I can track where my device is located, I could not find my MAC in the list of devices. I had my apple ID set up in my MAC. How can I add the device in the list when it was already lost and what other alternatives to trace my lost device?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

    Hey maria rejie,

Thanks for being a part of Apple Support Communities.

If you're not seeing your MacBook Air on iCloud.com in your list of devices, then there could be a few things possible.  First, if you're not signed in to iCloud.com with the same Apple ID that was used to set up iCloud on the Mac, then you will not see it.  Second, if iCloud was never set up or Find My Mac was never enabled on your MacBook Air, then it would also fail to appear on iCloud.com.

If one of your devices isn’t listed, make sure it’s set up for iCloud with the Apple ID you used to sign in to iCloud.com.

    iCloud: Manage your iCloud devices

As far as ways to track a lost device other than iCloud, it would require a third-party tracking service.

    Take care.
