Most USB mics do not require a driver from the manufacturer. I have Blue Yeti mic and my Logitech webcam with mic works fine without any additional drivers.

What does Audio Technica support say?

Because the cable provided with the mic didn't reach through the wall to the computer, I used a coupler to connect it to another cable. And although the mic was getting power from the computer, something about connecting to another usb cable created a problem. When I took the mic to the computer and plugged in direct the mini recognized the device input. Now I have to find a 10' cable. So I think the problem is solved, although I still don't know exactly what was wrong with the coupler. It was recommended by the seller of the mic to solve the initial problem.
