Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems your iPad Air 2 is not providing your location. This can be caused by a few things that we can take a look at.
I would recommend you read this article, it may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.
One question to ask is if you have an iPad Air 2 Wi‑Fi + Cellular? If you do, then it is possible at some point you might have decided to not track your location in an app. You will want to go to Settings > Location Services turn on and off specific apps or the entire service, which can help with this situation.go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Location & Privacy.
You can turn Location Services on or off at Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
About privacy and Location Services in iOS 8 and later - Apple Support
If you don't have the Wi‑Fi + Cellular model, then you will be relying on Wi-Fi points to track your general location as that does not have built in GPS.
