Sep 27, 2016 11:21 AM in response to clarknby JamilG,Yes, I have this issue too.
How were your contacts synced, I had it through google but migrated everything over to iCloud and removed google but it hasn't helped. -
Sep 27, 2016 1:19 PM in response to JamilGby clarkn,I've always used iCloud for Contacts. I never had any issues with the previous iOS on my iPhone 6S. This problem started after upgrading to iOS 10 and the iPhone 7.
And another update and things seem to be worse now. I just checked my Wallet app and tried to look at my primary credit card, but when I click the info button, it crashes. I tried rebooting, but it still does it and Apple Pay doesn't appear to be working in apps. It doesn't come up at all in Eat24 app. The Panera app still does the annoying contact info thing, but it might work at least.

Sep 27, 2016 4:43 PM in response to clarknby JamilG,Yeah I should of mentioned I'm using a 7 too. I've not been having the info button issues. Apple Pay is appearing in all apps for me, but having to put in contact name every time.
Have you got any other accounts linked to Contacts, I have Facebook on my Mac and iPhone. LinkedIn on my Mac.
I've tried deleting 'my card' in Contacts and starting afresh but that still hasn't worked.
I've not seen anyone/anywhere else report this issue, have you?

Sep 27, 2016 6:25 PM in response to JamilGby clarkn,No, I haven't seen anyone else with the problem nor reports of it anywhere online (here or Macrumors) yet.
Have you verified your settings in Settings->Wallet & Apple Pay-> Transaction Defaults ??
I have those set on mine, but it still has the problem with requesting contact name.
My other problem seems to persist even if I add another card. It always crashes the wallet app or the settings app if I try to view the card information. I think I'll have to do a support request.
Between this and the "No Service" issues, I am not too happy with the 7 and iOS 10 so far.

Sep 28, 2016 11:04 AM in response to clarknby JamilG,Yeah my details are all set in 'Transaction Defaults'.
I guess you're in the US then? I'm in the UK so it can't be anything to do with specific bank accounts/cards.
I'll do that too, let me know how yours goes.
There's some info here about where the data gets queried from: https://developer.apple.com/library/content/ApplePay_Guide/CreateRequest.html
But I can't find where exactly it would be pulling it from

I think I need to first deal with the Wallet crashing issue as it seems more significant since Apple Pay won't work at all in most apps now.
I did a support request last night to report the issue and mostly retried stuff I had already tried. Finally, ended up doing a factory reset and reload (something I wanted to avoid). After restoring and setting up the device and Apple Pay, I checked the wallet, and it still crashes when trying to view card info.
I'll have to reopen the support request. I don't know what else can be done other than replace the phone now.
With regard to your reference, I presume it should be populate the default data from the Transaction Defaults, but it's not for some reason. This seems like a bug of some sort. I don't know what is unique about our devices/configurations that other people aren't experiencing it.
