Q: Mac Pro does not find external CD ROM when it is plugged in. fix?
Mac Pro is not finding my external CD/DVD/ROM when I plug it in. I've tried both USB ports. These ports are working with my iPhone. I have done the Sierra update recently. I have tried restarting my laptop with the ROM plugged in and without it being plugged in. Nothing seems to work. How do I find my plug and play CD/DVD/ROM?
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), iOS 10.0.2

It is an Apple USB Superdrive and should be compatible with your Mac.
Sounds like it may be defective. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Diagnostics are free

I myself do not like the slot-loading drives since then have more problems that the tray-loading drives.
