Q: Help my Mac's fan is getting crazy

After upgrading from Yosemite to El Capitan, the fan is constantly running.

Below is an excerpt of the Console log.

Many thanks for any advice.

    Hello GéraldTenenbaum,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding your fan is been continuously running since upgrading to El Capitan. I know it can be alarming to h I am happy to help.

If you haven't already, I recommend resetting the System Management Controller (SMC). This can resolve issues with the fans running at high speed. Use the steps below to reset the SMC on your MacBook Pro.

    • Shut down the Mac.
    • Plug in the MagSafe or USB-C power adapter to a power source and to your Mac.
    • Using the built-in keyboard, press Shift-Control-Option on the left side of the keyboard, then press the power button at the same time.
    • Release all keys, then press the power button again to turn on your Mac

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

    Cheers!
