Q: iPhone Contact AutoComplete

I've lost all my contacts on iCloud. I've noticed though that in iMessages, I can start typing the name of a deleted contact...the information is still there. Can I access this information and upload it to my iCloud?

    Welcome alanfromstratford,

Thanks for posting on the Apple Support Communities. I see that you lost all your contacts on iCloud, but they still come up when you type the name of a deleted contact in iMessages. I know how important contacts are. I will be more than happy to help.

There is an easier way to restore contacts from iCloud. Take a look at this article:

If you accidentally deleted your calendars, reminders, or contacts from iCloud - Apple Support

In particular, check out this section:

Restore your contacts from an earlier version

    1. Sign in to iCloud.com.
    2. Click Settings.
    3. Scroll down and click Restore Contacts under Advanced.
    4. Click Restore next to the date before you deleted your contacts.
    5. Click Restore again to confirm. After the restore completes, you'll get a notification on iCloud.com and an email to the address on file with your Apple ID.

    Take care!

I understand that...but that doesn't at all answer my question.

My iCloud contacts are gone...there is not retrieving them...i'm aware of that part.

I just wanted to access the iMessage autocomplete cache and copy that back to my iCoud contacts...that would be very helpful
