Q: Feature: Shrink (collapse) old health data

This is a feature request posted on Apple's Product Feedback.

Health data grow in size extremely fast, especially if you own an apple watch.

Within less than 3 months I have over 750MB of health data which only includes movement, heart beat and rare practice.

That means that health data will grow approximately 3GB per year, leaving users no option but to delete them every now and then or completely disable tracking.

That could affect limited storage users, but also iCloud storage since backups are getting huge.

It would be awesome if some kind of shrink (collapse) could happen to old data (>month) keeping only one record for each day of every activity by calculating average or some other optimization.

I'm positive it's in Apple's future plans. I just wanted to highlight it.

Is anyone else affected by that? What's your solution?

Thanks!
