Q: Facetime not working after sierra update

After upgrading to macOS Sierra 10.12, Facetime is not accepting my icloud id and pass. "An error occurred during activation. Try again".  Been trying for 3 days to activate it now.

My Apple id & password are working everywhere else but not in facetime.

My mac is:

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011)

2.2 GHz Intel Core i7

8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB

Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

256 GB SSD (OCZ-VERTEX4)

    HI,

A Safe Mode boot deletes system caches that can help after an update or upgrade.

Follow these steps to start up into safe mode.

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. Immediately after you hear the startup sound, press and hold the Shift key.
    3. Release the Shift key when you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, it might take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your desktop. This is because your Mac performs a directory check of your startup disk as part of safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

    Then try FaceTime.

Thanks for this amazing quick reply, but unfortunately after following the exact steps it didn't work and still receiving "An error occurred during activation. Try again".
