Q: After IOS 10.0.2, camera will not close

Just did the upgrade to the new IOS, and now everytime I open my phone or pad, the camera is open and will not close. Reboots do not help.

iPad Air, iOS 10.0.2

Hi. Can you explain further? You open the smart cover or click the Home button and immediately see the camera? You should see the Lock screen with a message to press Home again to open. The Lock screen is now configured with the Today (widgets) page on the left and the Camera on the right, so you can swipe to access them without opening the iPad. If you get into the Camera by mistake, clicking Home gets you out.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I see what you mean about swiping and clicking home, but does this mean the camera is always open and draining the battery?

No, I don't think so. It's just a shortcut to access it without unlocking the iPad, presumably for quick snaps. I believe there always was a way to do this, swipe in from the corner? This is just the new way. It's a bit more obvious.

Are you OK now with generally how to open using iOS 10? Lots of people don't like the second click on the Home button, compared to the old swipe to unlock. But it seems like the multi-pane lock screen makes swiping impossible.

Yes, thanks, I'm okay now. Sometimes change, even for the good, takes time to adjust to.
