Q: Top sites dont update.

Removing one top site removes icon altogether instead of suggesting new site in its place (now I have 1.5 rows with sites, and the rest is just empty space). Favorites don't seem to update either. After update to Sierra everything worked fine for a day or two. The only event I can link to this faulty behavior is installing ublock extension, but removing it did nothing. Any ideas?

    Might be a corrupt .plist.

Do a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

    Quit the application.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Safari/TopSites.plist.  Move the .plist to your desktop.

Restart the computer, open the application, and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.

If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Thanks to leonie for some information contained in this.

This reseted my list. Now half the screen is my sites and half - standard ones. I'll give it some time and see if it will update it properly.

Yep, works fine now. Seems like content blocking feature had something to do with it, might be wrong though.
