Sep 27, 2016 9:21 AM in response to GaryW_UKby maratoneta59,I upgraded my MacBook Pro Retina 2015 to Sierra. Now it drains battery three times faster and gets really hot.
I found in "activity monitor" that a process, called lprpmd consumes 99% of the CPU. Killing it the battery consumption returns normal.
When I start again the Mac, the process lprpmd goes live again and it drains the battery. Any info about lprpmd?6:09:16 PM -
Sep 28, 2016 2:33 AM in response to maratoneta59by GaryW_UK,★HelpfulTurns out lprpmd is the Ricoh Universal Printer driver, in my case part of the Ricoh GlobalEngine Print AddOn. You need to uninstall the AddOn using geprint-mac_Uninstall in Applications then reinstall the AddOn. You may get a range of errors when you try to do this, but when you're successful, lprpmd is back to 0% CPU.

Sep 28, 2016 3:25 AM in response to GaryW_UKby maratoneta59,I confirm GaryW_UK suggestions. I followed same procedure "un-installing GEprint" and the reinstalling again. It worked! No battery drains anymore and CPU usage back to normal!

Oct 6, 2016 10:11 AM in response to GaryW_UKby jgoodhue,Confirmed GaryW_UK as well, I have been dealing with this for weeks, had my Activity Monitor open with the 90%+ CPU from lprpmd and ran the geprint-mac_Uninstall from Applications. It immediately removed the process and there was no more fan!
