Q: updated iphone to 10.0.2 now can't discover any devices on bluetooth.  iPad nearby picks up 5 devices, iphone with new IOS nothing.  Already powered off etc

I updated my iphone to IOS 10.0.2 now my phone doesn't see any devices on bluetooth. I've tried turning off the device, turning off/on bluetooth and hotspot.  My ipad nearby (not updated) sees 5 devices but not my iphone.

A:

turned out to be a relatively easy fix.  Under bluetooth, I selected "forget this device" from my iphone and other devices.  Suddenly I was discoverable again on the iphone.
