After installing Sierra, i cannot connect to Safari, or App Store.  I can connect to Chrome.  Also, HP printer scanning option does not work.

    Hi mahuser,

I see from your post that you're having some problems using Safari and the App Store after upgrading to Sierra. I also understand that you're unable to use the scanning feature of your HP printer. I'm happy to help with all of these issues!

As a first step, I'd recommend that you restart your Mac and test to see if you're still unable to access the internet while using Safari and the App Store. Do you have another wireless network that you can test with? This might help you to isolate the issue to one specific network having this problem. Also, take a look at this resource for some additional steps to take:

OS X: "Cannot connect" or "Cannot connect to the App Store. An internet connection is required" - Apple Support

To address your issue with scanning, take a look at the following website to ensure your HP printer is listed and supports scanning:
Printer and scanner software for macOS Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, and Mavericks - Apple Support

Keep in mind that your Mac will automatically install drivers for all the printers on this list, you'll just need to ensure that you have run any listed updates in the App Store. If you do not see your printer on this list, you'll need to check HP's support page to see if there are any Sierra-specific drivers published on their website for your printer model.

    Cheers!
