Q: iPhone 6 ~ Freezing up after IOS 10.0.1 update

Just after uploading the new IOS 10.0.1 software on my iPhone 6, some of my applications like texting, emails and other apps where you type words, the screen freezes up and I have to reboot my iPhone.  I've backed up my iPhone 6 to my computer, restored my phone, downloaded the IOS 10.0.1 again, reinstalled my back-up files; however, my phone is still freezing up....Is anyone else experiencing this issue or does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this situation??

    Hi Watanabj66,

Thanks for updating your iPhone to iOS 10! I understand how important having a functioning device is for you. Great job with restoring the device to resolve the issue. If after restoring your backup files the freezing returned, the issue may be with the files itself. You can try restoring the device once more using iTunes on your computer, setting it up as a new device, then test the functionality of the iPhone running on iOS 10. If it performs as expected, try reinstalling the apps from the App Store instead of restoring from the backup, then if you use iCloud you can sign in and add your Contacts, Calendar, etc. back to the iPhone.

First, let's make a backup of your iPhone:

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

The link below can assist you with the restore process using your computer.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

This should have your iPhone working as expected! Thanks for using Apple Support Communities to post your question. Have a great day.
