Oct 8, 2016 10:30 AM in response to Chris CAby abcfgrdweddfbgdfdfbg,★HelpfulThis does not answer the question (please read) I do not want to exclude songs based on the rating but whether or not they are liked (loved) or disliked. Please be more careful before responding.
IOS does not allow you to rate songs, so rating them is kind of useless. You can only like or dislike song on your iPhone. When I create smart playlist I need one for liked/loved songs and one where no selection has been made. After I make a selection it should either move to the loved list or move out the playlist making room for other songs to be removed. Talking about thousand of songs here, so "just sit down and rate them all in one night" is also a stupid answer.

Sep 18, 2016 1:29 PM in response to abcfgrdweddfbgdfdfbgby klh-denver,You are exactly right. If you use the "loved" criteria and select "is false" then every song that is unrated will show up, all the songs that are disliked and all the songs that have no loved criteria applied as well.
And of course as you mention there is no longer a star rating system on the iphone so star ratings are useless, you can only dislike a song and then there is no way to find those disliked songs within itunes.
I'm guessing apple will get around to updating the "loved" criteria at some point to add an explicit loved=unloved, or ignore unrated songs when applying the "is false" flag.

Sep 20, 2016 1:42 AM in response to Chris CAby schaufelradbagger,Unfortunately nothing is sorted.
It really is the most annoying thing about the new Music App – me, too, I like to have a smart playlist with new songs, that excludes the songs that I rate automatically. This worked fine with the star rating. But because in iOS 10 there is no star rating anymore, you have to switch to «loved/not loved». But you simply cannot create a smart playlist in iTunes that excludes «loved» AND «not loved» so that the playlist only includes unrated songs.

Sep 23, 2016 6:17 PM in response to schaufelradbaggerby taebert,I agree. If I want to build a smart playlist to rate un-screened songs, there is no way to filter out those that I have already flagged as 'disliked'.

Sep 23, 2016 6:22 PM in response to schaufelradbaggerby Chris CA,You can rate songs using Siri and they will get added/removed from a smart playlist using the rating.

Sep 25, 2016 11:52 AM in response to schaufelradbaggerby tropez,EXACTLY! Driving me nutty. I used to do the same thing and now I can't. If there was a drop-down filter such as Disliked is False/True I think we could make it work. Something Apple should add in.
