Q: Inverted trackpad scroll

So, since I've installed macOS Sierra I'm experiencing this strange thing... my trackpad, from one second to another, just decides to invert the scroll direction.

I'm always in the "natural scroll" mode... I scroll down and the page goes up, I scroll up and the page goes down. But now, and with the natural scroll still on, I'm scrolling down and the page goes down, and scrolling up and the page going up.

I can only solve this by letting the computer sleep for a while or just turn it off and on.

(If, right now with this problem, I turn off the natural scroll, I can naturally scroll again. It's just inverted, I don't know why)

    Hey Nirvanes,

Thanks for being a part of Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that your Mac's scrolling direction seems to switch on its own. To get started with troubleshooting this issue, please boot into safe mode and test if the issue persists.

    1. Choose Apple menu > Shut Down.

    2. After your Mac shuts down, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

    3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift key.

You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after you hear the startup tone, but not before.

    4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

To leave safe mode, restart your Mac again, but don’t press and hold any keys during startup.

macOS Sierra: Start up in safe mode

If the scroll direction behaves as we expect it to, then please restart normally, and let us know if the issue comes back.  If it comes back, then we know there's a third-party service running on your Mac that could be causing the issue.

If an issue doesn't happen in safe mode

If an issue doesn't happen when your Mac is started in safe mode, try restarting again without pressing any keys at startup. If the issue appears to be resolved when you start up normally, it was possibly caused by a cache or a directory issue with your startup disk that safe mode fixed.

If you restart your Mac normally and an issue comes back when you reach your desktop, try disabling any login items that automatically open when you log in.

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn‘t finish starting up

    Take care.
