Q: iPhone 7 lightening headphone adapter

Hi there, got my new iPhone7 last Friday, thanks Apple. I've been using the included headphone adapter in my car and when I wear my Klipsch R6i earbuds. My old iPhone 5s would somehow recognize what headphones or output device I plugged into be it my car, Klipsch ear buds or apple ear buds and it would remember what I had the volume last set to with that device.

While using the included lightening audio jack adapter with my car or my Klipsch ear buds, it does not remember the last set volume level. This is painful, literally, since I put my earbuds in and got blasted with many more decibels than I was expecting. Is this a hardware limitation of the adapter or something left out of IOS 10? I have a hard time believing the lightening adapter can't forward the same data your average RTTS jack provides.

Please fix Apple.

Thanks,

Billy

Following iOS 10 update my Klipsch R6i earphone control stopped calling up Siri or resuming after a pause in listening. Another post said that 10.0.2 fixed some issues, but not for me. Sounds like volume level should be saved on the iPhone - nothing to do with speaker/headphone use.

I explained my problem to Klipsch and this was their reply:

With the new iPhone updates, they are always changing every couple of weeks or months, and they just have not been able to fix the bug in the software that is causing the issue. We are currently working on everything we can on our end to figure out how to get it to function properly again although we are pretty that it is a software issue because the headphone jack did not change, but the way the phone reads the signals from it has changed. But we simply do not know anything for sure right now.

We apologize for any inconvenience .

As I mentioned above, I did update to 10.0.2 and it didn't fix my issue. The comment from Klipsch support was received from them today 9/28.
