Q: 6 + Grey Bar at top of screen, screen un-responsive

Two weeks ago I noticed that a small grey flickering bar would appear at the top of my screen when unlocking my phone. Sometimes it would just go away and other times it would linger and my screen either: would not accept any touches, or the touches would register incorrectly and open un-wanted apps or type wrong things.

Took it to the Apple store last Saturday, Genius's looked at it and saw the issue, did a screen replacement. It is now one week later and the issue just re-surfaced. I am about to do a full restore on the phone to see if that helps.

Anyone else with this issue???? I will post an update after the restore. None of the people at my store had seen this issue before.

Thanks

-Tom

This post is definitely getting removed. Haha.
Anyway, they call it the Touch Disease, not touching, lol.
Have a good day, sorry your problem isn't getting addressed.

Happened to my 6+ , few days after warranty expired. Also been told to replace the phone but in Serbia it costs around 450€ which is a rip-off. I have to slightly hit the top of my phone when it starts flickering and then it works for a while. Never buying IPhone again.

I am looking for an android phone.

Anything with a snapdragon 821 sud be extremely good to use.

Enough of trying to fix the Apple i have.

Imagine , trying to revive the camera while ur talking to a client, and my client laughed at the flickering screen...

This is my first and last iphone..

It cost me USD1k and only lasted me 13 months.

Having the same issue. I went to the Apple store today and they told me that it was an issue with the motherboard not the screen. The cost to fix it will be more than the cost of getting a new phone. The only option left is to trade in current 6+ iphone for $225 and buy a new iphone. I really think that Apple should replace this defected iphone for free.

my husbands phone never got the gray bar but has a touch screeen non-responsive, dials phone on its own, wont allow him to answer the phone or will just randomly open apps try to delete emails and such.  We can't afford another phone, hoping to find a person to fix!!  So disappointed in Apple right now.

the disappointment is felt by so many users but the relevant people arent listening to us.

What shall and can we do?

I walked into an apple store in malaysia and was asked to pay Rm1800 ( approx USD$450 ) to get a new phone to replace mine that was butchered by the grey line of death.

I told them , i would pay the amount, only if I was given the choice to buy the extended warranty, which they refused to accomodate. Tis makes me wonder why....

Like I said before and my post keep getting deleted by Apple.  This issue CAN be fixed by several people throughout the US.  You can Google or FaceBook: iTech Mobile Repair Center and you'll see photos of this level of work done for various Apple issues that in fact can be fixed ! ! !  Or you can Google Touch IC disease on Youtube.

Hey Tommy, this is a pretty prevalent problem with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. All you need to do is search the internet for "Touch Disease" and it will explain the problem people are experiencing because of a defect in the motherboard design. Best of luck.

realLynne disappointed with Apple support as they acted surprised like they had never heard of this

fault but I can see the phones are suffering from bent screens through the forum here.

my phone is behaving this morning but it's random
