Sep 27, 2016 8:27 AM in response to GingerBuhrby Subiesu,I am surprised that no one responded. Perhaps the community thinks you have a hardware issue? To force a re-start hold the Home and On/Off button together for a while (some people say ten seconds but sometimes it takes longer than that). Be sure that the iPod is charged somewhat or it still will not re-start. If this does not work than my suggestion is a trip to the Genius bar for assistance as this sounds like a hardware issue.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Sep 28, 2016 11:59 PM in response to GingerBuhrby hopeabney2001,This has happened to me many times. It seriously bumming but this worked for me so i hope works for you.
-Plug in ipod for atleast a week without touching
> Try to resist pressing the buttons or unplugging
- after atleast a week try to turn it on again
If this doesnt work it might be your battery, you can replace it for like $60 i think.
Good luck!!!
