Q: iTunes smart playlist empty on iphone

I have upgraded to iOS 10.  I have created a new smart playlist.  It shows up in iTunes full populated.  When I go to my iPhone to play the list.  It shows up there, but it is empty.

I have older/ pre iOS 10 smart playlists that show up correctly.

Any ideas?

I have tried a few more things.  I took an old list and duplicated it.  It synced in about 8 seconds.  I then changed the parameters in the smart list to match what I had.  The list updated and became empty.  I noticed that it didn't like the parameter 'Grouping is'.  However, I have other smart list that use the 'Grouping is' parameter and they work.  Maybe the new field I added for grouping is not getting uploaded to iCloud music?  Therefore it is not available for matching in rules?  I am running a Genius Update and an iCloud Library update.  I will try me tests again to see if that makes a difference.

I had to use the 'Get Info' page to edit the meta data with the songs to refresh iCloud Music Library and now my smart playlist appears to be working.

Hey, where to find 'Get Info' page? In iTunes? 'Get info' of each song or smart playlist?

Sorry, could you explain a bit more what you did?  What metadata did you edit, and on which 'Get Info' page was it?

I just 'right-clicked' a song and choose 'get info' from the menu.  When I edit the fields there and click ok.  It seems to update the iCloud library database and my smart playlist worked.
