Q: MBP crashes with distorted screen glitches

My 15 inch, early 2011 MPB frequently crashes, and the crashes are usually accompanied by graphic glitches and distortions, as seen by this sideways picture: IMG_3432.JPG

I do know that my battery needs a replacement badly, given that the cycle count is absurdly high and that the 'service battery' message has been on for some time. But regardless of whether or not the computer is connected to power, my computer will crash.

My question is, is it the battery that is the culprit here or is it something else? I've attached an etrecheck which notes that my performance is 'below average' :/

Try replacing the battery. That will remove that possibility. Also try quitting Chrome as it tends to be a resource hog. If nothing improves, post a crash report.

Try uninstalling the above using the developer's uninstall instructions.
