Sep 28, 2016 11:24 AM in response to Slowmanby Eric Root,If I'm understanding what is going on, try reinstalling an older backup from when Yosemite was the OS that was installed. Once complete, you can then enter Time Machine using the application and restore just your newer files.

Sep 29, 2016 7:20 AM in response to Eric Rootby Slowman ,HI, while I am greatful for the advice, I tried this and when it came to restartping the computer following the time machine restore which did go back to may this year, it stalled . I tired to restart from the tool bar at the top but still nothing. I had to turn the machine off and on again, when I did this black screen apple logo and underneath bar filling up showing I presume the install, but then it stops about half way and I have to reboot in utilities etc ..
any advice would be much appreciated thanks ..

Sep 29, 2016 10:17 AM in response to Slowmanby Eric Root,You are welcome. I don't know how much time you gave Time Machine to restore, but the restores I've done have taken 10-12 hours and I only have 288+ GB of data. You may need to give it more time.
