It's very easy to determine if your Mac's performance is being limited by available memory. Please read Use Activity Monitor on your Mac - Apple Support. If the "Memory Pressure" graph is frequently "red" your Mac will benefit from additional memory. If not, it won't.

Sep 29, 2016 12:51 PM in response to John Galtby froggie123,I'm going to fill my other 2 slots with more ram to help things run smoother. I thought it was more complicated! I've done it with my MBP as well as replacing the drive, not sure why I didn't think of it sooner! Guess I didn't realize how much more RAM is needed than several OS's ago!
