Q: iPhone 7 128GB - GPS drops and No service errors

I have the iPhone 7 128 GB on Verizon with major network issues, particularly when I run my GPS.  It's dropping to no service in areas I know I have full bars of 4G LTE and dropping the GPS signal.   When I run my GPS (Tried Waze/Google/Apple) it will drop for about 3-5 minutes at a time...a big problem when traveling in areas you are not familiar with.  When it does come back, it will often get stuck in 3G, again in areas I know are well covered in 4G LTE.  I've tried resetting network connections already several times and rebooted.  Lets hope this gets fixed.  I'm running iOS 10.0.1

iPhone 7, iOS 10

I Wish an apple employee would help us out on here with this issue. For the past 4 years I have had the same routine going to work. Start podcast, start Waze, drive. This is messing up my routine.

My iPhone 7 with Verizon regularly loses connection when traveling, reporting "No Service" and "NO GPS".  Often when using Waze, as I use it regularly, but also when just in MAPs on out of Waze.  I live in the washington DC area and we have strong verizon coverage in all areas.  I also own a iPhone 6s and while side by side with my iPhone 7 does NOT ever drop service.  I have replaced my iPhone at the apple store, I have replaced the SIM card, I has reset my iPhone and set it up as new, all to no avail. This has happened since I received my iPhone on launch day.

Service and GPS is restored several minutes later after continuing to travel.  I can also stop my car, turn off my iPhone and turn it back on and get full service back.

I have reported the issue to Verizon and they do not have a solution.

    I am on IOS 10.0.2.

After talking with Apple for over an hour, they have no solution and only told me to post here and to the apple.com/feedback page.

I have the same problem: the GPS accuracy on my iPhone 7 is really bad.

I used to track my run with Strava with my iPhone 6 and realised it was not working anymore after I get my iPhone 7.

I thought it was the app but noticed other GPS-based apps were not working (Apple Maps, Google Maps, etc.).

Here is a photo of my iPhone 6 (left) compared to my iPhone 7 (right). Same condition (Wi-Fi off), same carrier, same OS version (10.0.2). Look at the horizontal and vertical accuracy, it's as if my iPhone 7 was not receiving any GPS signal (only carriers). I really don't know what's wrong and if it is a software or hardware issue.

I will try to get an appointment at an Apple Store asap.

I am having this same issue.  My first iPhone 7 was getting a "no SIM card installed" error so I went to Verizon and they replaced the SIM.  Told me that if it kept happening, it was probably a SIM reader issue and the phone would need to be replaced.  I monitored it really closely over the next week and was constantly getting the "no service" error up to 10x on my commute to and from work, all while using Waze.  It is really obvious when you lose signal while using GPS.  After a few miles of driving, service would usually come back.

I wanted to replace my phone within the 14-day warranty window so I took it to Verizon and asked it to be replaced.

Got the replacement iPhone 7 within a week and guess what?  Still getting the same error.  So glad to find this forum to know that I'm not crazy, but I don't know if they would replace my phone again.  Hoping there is a software fix I can try because I'm tired of switching phones.

    It seems to be fixed.

Recap:  What didn't work - New SIM, Network settings reset, full restore from backup, set up as new phone.

What did work:  Took the phone back, got a new one, restored from backup and still had the problem.  Did a "Reset Network Settings" on the new phone, and now it seems to be working properly.

Will advise if it starts to act up again.

I too got a replacement phone from Apple, Verizon replaced the SIM card and I did a full restore. I tried the reset network setting this afternoon. It didn't work, problem still exists.  Still hunting for the solution.

Known issue with Verizon and iPhone 7. I had one for one day and the first time I had someone call me to test the phone the call went to voice mail.
