Q: iPhone 7 front camera flickering HDR during FaceTime

Today i have recieved my new iPhone 7. During a FaceTime call my video was constantly changing from bright to dark. When i moved the camera focus (early evening brightness) to a bright light just behind me the HDR processing does nog seem to know the correct brightness levels. This caused flickering of my camera image from bright to dark. Not a very nice way of having a FaceTime conversation. Does anyone else have the same issues? Does this need to be resolved in a software fix or can the auto HDR mode be disabled somehow?

Same issue here, but it's flickering without me moving the phone at all...seems to be worse when there is a white background! In between the whole screen is flashing in a bright green for the viewer!

My iPhone 7 does the exact same thing. Even without moving my screen it is constantly changing from white to dark. I will be taking mine to the store as well to see if someone can resolve this.

I have the same issue. iPhone 7 Plus 256 GB black... I also had the following problem when I installed my device, had a problem with the screen brightness, It was a bit dark and when I change from 50% to 100% there was no change in brightness at all?? Then after 10-15 min it got bright by it self? can it be something wrong with the light sensor on our phones?

Me too (AT&T, Plus, 256GB). If I switch from the rear-facing camera and back again, it stops temporarily.

Me having the same issue, it is flicking so bad that I have to cut off the call.

I was hoping that 10.0.2 would have solved this

I am having the same issue, it gets really annoying the color constantly changing on the front camera. I tried turning off the flash for the front camera so that the lighting is not constantly changing but I don't see any change. The person I am face timing with see the same thing I do. Please if someone finds a solution post it on here.

I've noticed this as well. Has anyone addressed this through Genius Bar/AppleCare?

I have the same issue and found a partial workaround.

Rotate the phone 90 degrees and the flickering goes away.

The landscape aspect ratio is not great but it is better than the flickering.

If you rotate a full180 degrees it is better than no rotation and you are in portrait mode, but it still flickers just a little bit.

For me Facetime is pretty much unusable unless you do the rotation trick.

Exact same issue. iPhone 7 Plus 256GB Black . I contacted apple support last week. They have not heard about this issue before. hmm. I was asked to update iOS to 10.0.2. This has not solved the issue. So I contacted apple again. This time I was asked to restore to factory settings followed by backup restore using iTunes. This has not solved the issue  either. Called apple support again. This time they requested restore to factory settings without backup restore. But the flickering is still there. This is just so annoying.
