Q: Apple Music Library Obliterated after iTunes 12.5.1 Update!
Hello,
I just updated to iTunes 12.5.1 on PC and immediately noticed that at least half of all of my apple music playlists have a large majority of songs removed. This is obviously a freaky and devastating discovery!
In checking if content is also missing on iOS, it appears that only songs from a playlist i was working on this morning from iOS before updating iTunes has missing songs. I am guarding it with my life and concerned that any wrong move might cause the songs to disappear from iOS as well. I have put it on airplane mode to reduce risk and I am considering screenshotting all of my playlists although that will take a very long time.
Any thoughts on what I can do? Can I get all of my content back to iTunes? Will these missing songs also disappear from iOS if I take it back online? Any way to get the songs back that are also missing from the playlist in iOS? These are all from adding songs to playlists over the course of a year that couldn't possible recreated.
Are Apple music libraries stored locally? I don't have any local music and my itunes .itl files appear to be unmodified within the last year, so I'm guessing no?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I love Apple Music, but this is making me seriously consider running away forever if I cannot feel secure that my work won't disappear again in the future.
