Here's a rough list of when new cards started working.

• GK110B (GTX 780, GTX 780 Ti etc) needs 10.9.2 and 331.01.01f01
• GM107 (GTX 750) and GM204 (GTX 970, GTX 980 etc) need 10.10 and 343.01.XX.XX

Note that these Maxwell GPUs will not work with the stock Apple drivers, so you must install the NVIDIA web driver first.

The version of Nvidia driver is linked to the version of OS X you are running that is the build number of the version of OS X. (The build number gets changed both by version updates and security updates.)

Therefore the only version of Nvidia driver for your version of OS X and build is the latest version. Likewise the latest OS X needs a different version which arguably is newer than the one for yours.

Apple do provide a built-in driver for the GTX-680 and the most recent version for OS X 10.9.5 is the version that is already included in OS X 10.9.5.

So if you want a newer Nvidia or Apple version the only way to get it is to run a newer version of OS X.

Yes. OS X 10.9.5 had built-in drivers for this card, although for CUDA support you need to use the alternate Nvidia drivers instead.

PS. Only original EVGA Mac Edition versions of the GTX-680 came with Mac firmware. It is possible to 'flash' a PC version of the GTX-680 to include Mac firmware - I have done this myself. The lack of Mac firmware does not prevent using the card it merely means you will not see anything until OS X has finished booting and therefore loaded the relevant driver.

Mac OS X 10.9.5 includes a built-in driver for the GTX-680 as written by Apple. There is no separate Apple installer for the driver as it is built-in.

Nvidia do provide their own driver for Mac OS X 10.9.5. The exact link to click on depends on the exact build number of your version of OS X 10.9.5. If you had looked at the link I gave you before instead of using your incorrect link you would have found the correct download.

Hypothetically, if you have Mac OS X 10.9.5 build 13F1911 which I believe maybe the last build of 10.9.5 then the corresponding link to click on and download the Nvidia driver is this - 334.01.03f11 As we do not know what build number you are running we cannot know which version you need.

The Nvidia site itself does not make it easy to find all their different versions of drivers.
