    Hi tereora!

I see that you'd like to export your photos from your iPhone to your PC.  It's important to be able to save your photos to your computer, so I'm happy to help.  Here are instructions for importing your photos to your computer:

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the inputs Allen A; however, tereora's issue seems to be that Windows Explorer doesn't recognize that the phone is connected although iTunes backup runs without a problem. I am having the same issue directly linked to the iOS 10.0.1 update. Until resolved, I have no way to navigate the phone to grab and back up pictures as I do not (and have no intention to) backup to the cloud.

Does any one have any ideas what the issue may be (I know it's early)? I am running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit. I am using iPhone 6s. Thanks for any advice.

UPDATE: I discovered I had not run the photo library app yet. Once I ran it on the phone and went through the start-up screens following the update--then reconnected it to computer--Windows could recognize it. Hope the same for others.

I had to simply open up the photos then connect the phone for my win7 pc to see the iphone, now it connects every time without having to open photos 1st. I'd been given lots of info from support but none solved the problem. Thanks dmblackwe
