Oct 1, 2016 7:14 AM in response to tiger0318by LACAllen,Is this just more of the continued warfare between Apple and Microsoft?
Rather than asking a question that has no answer, can you describe what "properly sync" means?

Oct 2, 2016 8:47 AM in response to LACAllenby tiger0318,When I delete an email that came into my inbox through my windows live email, I get a little dialogue box that pops up saying email cannot be moved to delete folder. I click okay and then a few minutes later those emails that I deleted (or tried to) show back up in inbox in MAIL. There appears to be a conflict between mail servers. All Apple Mail can be deleted successfully but not the Microsoft Windows Live email. My question is WHY? And what can be done to correct this? I never had this problem before the IOS 10 update.

Oct 2, 2016 9:12 AM in response to tiger0318by LACAllen,How many email providers do you use?
By "Apple Mail" do you mean @icloud.com mail?
If there is an issue deleting Microsoft served mail, that could be an issue at "their" end. The iOS Mail app merely sends commands to Microsoft's servers and acts on their replies.
What settings do you have for "move discarded message into"?
Settings > Mail > Accounts > "your MS account" > tap on your account > Advanced Settings

Oct 2, 2016 9:48 AM in response to LACAllenby tiger0318,I use 2
Apple Mail/icloud.com
Live.com
Yes the issue could be at the microsoft end but that is a rather pat answer used by both Apple and Microsoft. I wish I could just do away with the Microsoft address and use solely iCloud.com but its such an inconvenience to go through even online financial entity and change the email address etc. I use the iCloud.com address for business and the microsoft account for personal mail. I tried using a 2nd iCloud.com id and mail but that didn't work correctly and I ran into too many conflicts. Can we have a meeting of the United Nations and issue an edict that all mail formats should be identical so that they are useful on any platform out there?

However, it is accurate. Apple's devices get their orders from Microsoft's servers. Your frustrations do not alter that reality. Apple is accountable for only so much of the end to end process.
Email is one the oldest "systems" online and has an infinite number of players. Standards are hit and miss. The number of times a message is touched from point A to B is astounding.
Did you check your advanced settings?
There are 2 templates for adding a Microsoft email account. If you used the outlook.com one, try the Exchange one. Does the MS App work? It is not beyond belief to suggest MS is dragging their feet on this to convert users to their app vs the iOS Mail app. If iOS 10 introduced an incompatibility, they may not rush to resolve it.
Google did it by dropping push support for mail a while back. Push works in their app, but not iOS Mail.

Oct 6, 2016 6:06 AM in response to LACAllenby kamalot,LACAllen, I wanted to add a little to the above comment that I thought might provide some insight. My iphone 6 exchange email also does not work since the upgrade, however I have noticed that the email syncs when I am connected to wi-fi at home. It does not sync over cellular. I used the exchange set up. Don't know if this helps. My IT team is stumped. I am on ios 10 .2 so there is no other option to update.
My google mail app works fine. It is only my outlook account.
I just installed the Microsft app based on your suggestion. It works.
