Q: Wi-Fi Calling available message Repeats and Repeats

I have a MBP, iPad, and an iPhone6S all signed in to the same iCloud account.   iOS devices are all running 9.3 and the Mac is 10.11.4.

I powered up my old iPhone 5S because I have a use for it on WiFi (Airplane Mode ON, WiFi Enabled).   So a 4th device on the same iCloud account.   However, when the iPhone 5S is connected to my WiFi network, the other 3 devices (iPhone 6S, iPad and MacBook Pro) all start flashing messages (over and over and over again and I can't get them to stop).

iPhone: "Wi-Fi Calling for Other Devices - Wi-Fi Calling is now available for other devices on your iCloud account"

Mac: "Wi-Fi Calling on this Mac - You can now make and receive Wi-Fi calls using your phone number on this Mac"

iPad: "Wi-Fi Calling on This iPad - You can use your phone number to make and receive calls directly on this iPad using Wi-Fi."  (Not Now, Turn On).

These messages keep popping up as long as the 5S is on the WiFi network (again, there is no phone number assigned to it).  I have turned FaceTime off on the 5S - no change.

I can stop the messages by signing out of iCloud on the 5S.  However, once I sign in to iCloud with the 5S, the messages start up again on the other 3 devices.  There are no Phone or Cellular settings available on the 5S because it is in Airplane Mode (WiFi on).    How can I use the 5S and share my iCloud account but make the nagging messages on the other 3 devices stop ?

iPhone 6s, Mac OS 9.2.x

    Hello sjsherratt,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

If you want to turn off the iPhone Cellular Calls feature of Continuity, then I suggest you do the following:

    Turn off iPhone Cellular Calls

To turn off iPhone cellular calls on your iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off iPhone Cellular Calls.

On your Mac, open the FaceTime app and go to FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings and deselect the iPhone Cellular Calls option.

Use Continuity to connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac

    Take care.

Thanks alex_h1.   I don't want to disable the feature.  I just want the repeated pop-up notifications on all my devices to stop.   The only way I have found to do that is to sign out of iCloud on the iPhone5S or to take it off the WiFi network.

You may want to check with your carrier

Another option is to temporarily turn off

Settings - Phone - WiFi calling - toggle to OFF

Thanks.  The 2nd iPhone (5S) does not have an active cell account.  So it is in Airplane Mode with WiFi on.   So there is no Settings - Phone option.

Have you added the 5S as a WiFi capable calling device to the 6?

I'm having the same exact problem... I have an iPhone 6s... My carrier supports Wi-Fi calling... I also have an iPad Mini, Macbook Pro, and iPhone 5s... Wi-Fi calling is activated and turned on using my iPhone 6s. I allowed calls on other devices, added wi-fi calling for all the other devices, went through the process for each device described in the support document here - Make a call with Wi-Fi Calling - Apple Support and I keep receiving these messages until I either turn off iCloud on the iPhone 5s or turn off the iPhone 5s device entirely -

iPhone: "Wi-Fi Calling for Other Devices - Wi-Fi Calling is now available for other devices on your iCloud account"

The "Turn off iPhone Cellular Calls" and Use Continuity to connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac link that was suggested doesn't make sense because the iPhone 5s does not have the same FaceTime option that iPad and iPod touch has (calls from iPhone). in fact, the Apple support document for Wi-Fi calling says "

    1. Turn on Wi-Fi Calling:
      • On your iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime > Calls from iPhone and tap Upgrade to Wi-Fi Calling.
      • On your Mac, open FaceTime and choose FaceTime > Preferences > Settings and select Calls From iPhone > Upgrade to Wi-Fi Calling.

    "

So, just an idea here, but maybe the issue is that there is nothing in the documentation about turning on wi-fi calling for two different iPhones that are using the same iCloud account, since that situation is not even addressed in the Apple support document for Wi-Fi calling. If you carefully read the document, you will see that it is written under the assumption that there is one iPhone(6s in my case) being used to turn on wi-fi calling and add wi-fi calling to other devices, but what happens when you have another iPhone(5s in my case) that you want to only add as a device  and not be the main iPhone used for adding wi-fi calling to other devices? This issue that we are having might have something to do with this situation... something not explicitly addressed in the official support document outlining wi-fi calling or even Continuity. I plan on calling Apple Support soon and I'll let you know what I discover.

I can confirm that installing iOS 10 on all of my devices has remedied this issue.

Except my (up-to-date) iMac is causing the issue.  If I have to wait until MacOS Sierra comes out to stop getting a notification every 10 minutes, I'm going to cry.

Temporarily fixed the issue by completely getting rid of wifi calling, which is annoying because I really like the feature being in an office building with little to no service.

I am hoping this gets answered too.  So, I bought my new iPhone a couple of days ago and left the old iphone open while the new one was backing up because I still had wifi connection at least on the old phone while my new one was unusable.  However, I started and kept getting these same notifications you are describing on all of my 3 open Apple devices every minute (it seemed like). These notifications only stopped when I turned off my old phone after back up was complete on my new phone. It must happen because the phone is like you have no signal....use wifi...use wifi...is all I can figure, but I was using wifi ugh. Again hope you get an answer! Sorry, this wasn't helpful lol, just sharing your frustration with you I suppose =).

Same problem with my iPhone 7 Plus. Keeps asking me on the iPhone 7 (iOS 10), iPad Pro (iOS 10) and MacBook Pro (sierra) but it's enabled on the MacBook Pro and the iPad Pro, I can see in the settings on the iPhone 7 that they are enabled. This is on AT&T and it worked fine on my previous phone (iPhone 6s).

I've also enabled it on my other devices (did the passcode).

Maybe I have some other devices still enabled in iCloud, but it seems like it could easily show that or tell me.

I did still have an iPhone 6s (the one I just stopped using running) which makes my scenario similar to the original poster, but I did not add that although it was in the list (which I disabled).

I did pair the watch with the iPhone 7. My Apple Watch used to show up on the list on my 6s and does not appear on the 7.
