Jan 28, 2015 5:02 PM in response to niaboktrukby YoongHwee,Glad to see this as there are surprisingly no online posts on this except for this post in this forum. I am also frustrated as I was trying to add both my teenage kids. I managed to add my wife but not the kids. Can someone from Apple help? I am using IPhone 6+ on the latest iOS 8.1.3
Thanks

Mar 14, 2015 3:47 AM in response to DroolMAN!by Mackrell,I have the same problem - no problem adding my wife, but no luck adding the kids - and haven't been able to find anything online. Has anyone else got any ideas?

May 23, 2015 2:53 PM in response to DroolMAN!by damacintosh,I was having the same issue. The issue ended up, odd as this may sound, my Apple ID (the Family Organizer) was locked for some reason. Still not sure if there was a security measure in place by Apple that caused my Apple ID to get locked, all my password prompts were entered correctly. I have 2 step authentication enabled, so your steps may be different, but to fix it and add my son to Family Sharing I had to:
- Visit https://iforgot.apple.com/
- Enter my Apple ID (Family Organizer)
- Enter my Recovery Key (giving during 2 step authentication setup). May not be necessary if 2 step is not setup.
- Choose to unlock and keep my password.
After that, I went ahead and tried to add my son again to Family Sharing, and it worked.

Nov 20, 2015 5:09 PM in response to Gam9bitby Gam9bit,I fixed it by myself. I logged in to my icloudpreferences on my mac and logged in with my password. I get a instantly pushnotification from my bank. The dept was drafted from itunes. And then it works with the familysharing. I get instantly 2 mails from apple. One for the familysharing and one for the Apple Music Family account. I think the Dept was the problem (I am not the Family Organizer). Now it works.

Check to make sure the person you are trying to Add to Family Sharing has Two Factor Authentication turned off.
Go here: https://idmsa.apple.com/authenticate and make sure the iTunes account of the person you are trying to share with does not use Two Factor Authentication.
This is the only thing that worked for us.
Good luck!

Dec 13, 2015 1:10 AM in response to capppbruinby nobbse,We had the same problem. The tip to disable the 2 Factor Authentication has actually helped us. (https://appleid.apple.com)
What kind of crap is this, Apple ...?

Sep 18, 2016 1:42 PM in response to DroolMAN!by RiderH,Try this. Make sure your childs password for iCloud meets the required criteria. Best bet is to change their password, iCloud will then force you to have a password that meets the criteria. Once you have changed their password, try to accept the family sharing invite again. Hope that helps.

Oct 2, 2016 5:52 AM in response to RiderHby CM Leys,I also had this frustrating issue. I have 2-factor authentication and did not need to mess with that. Simply changing my son's password fixed it, even though his original password actually met the required criteria.
