Sep 25, 2016 8:10 PM in response to trevozby takaserob,I made this several times, including searching in the web for new drivers but nothing happens.
I removed the printer ( Epson Eco Tank L 375 ) in "printers & scanners" them restart, use combo package for printer and scaner but I can only scan and only if sharing printer is activated !
Could not find an specific driver for Sierra , Apple will release one?

Sep 26, 2016 3:55 PM in response to takaserobby John Blanchard1,★HelpfulIf this is similar to the other Epson filter crashes here - rastertoescpII is crashing - then I'm guessing that Epson will have to provide the fix.

Sep 27, 2016 8:32 AM in response to takaserobby mhankosky,We are having the same issue with our macOS 10.12.1 Beta testing Machines. They will not work with our Canon IR copier via the URF or PS driver. We get the same error. We have tried to Reset the printers and also reset CUPS.

Sep 27, 2016 9:34 AM in response to takaserobby SiHancox,Have the same issue, but with a Canon printer/scanner - check this thread Canon printer drivers in Sierra
Appears the Sierra update has caused issues with some printers (Canon type at least) and it will require a driver update to resolve, which on the Canon web site they confirm they are working on - might be helpful to look at your printer manufacturers site and see if they are doing the same.

Sep 28, 2016 8:28 AM in response to SiHancoxby odosou,Once 10.12.1 beta installed can not print to any of my epson printers, 'filter' failure. Worked with Epson support over a couple of days, tried several things but still no print. Their response this AM will have to wait for Apple Update??

Sep 28, 2016 9:49 AM in response to odosouby SiHancox,We usually have two ways to get a printer working, first is by using the drivers already contained within the OS itself and the second is by installing the manufacturers drivers. The first relies on Apple to periodically update (which they may get help from various manufacturers) but the second is the manufacturers sole responsibility and are normally released when a new OS appears or to resolve bugs, if Epson are saying you need to wait for Apple it sounds like they are not going to continue with support for your model.
Not withstanding the above, if the model you have is relatively new it would be reasonable for you to assume support would still be provided, might pay you to get back in touch with them and ask at what age do they pull support for there hardware. You could also try using just Apple's preinstalled drivers, it's usually the "Bonjour Multifunction" option that has "AirPrint" under "Use" when you try and add a printer from "Printers & Scanners" - nothing lost if it does'nt work!

Oct 2, 2016 10:09 AM in response to praharaby John Blanchard1,Which makes it sound like it was caused by the beta. You can submit feedback to Apple, but, given the amount of people reporting it here and that it causes problems for multiple brands, I'm guessing they already know about it.

Oct 2, 2016 10:41 AM in response to takaserobby Gerald Edgar,I get this sometimes printing a PDF from Preview. A work-around is to print it from Adobe Reader.

Oct 2, 2016 10:49 AM in response to Gerald Edgarby prahara,No luck. Already tried that. Public beta is the problem.

Oct 2, 2016 12:04 PM in response to praharaby SiHancox,Don't think the "Filter failed" dialogue is just beta related, it's happening to others and myself with the main public release of Sierra. The US Canon web site even states that for certain of there printers if printing is an important part of your work flow you should not yet upgrade from El Capitan.
The fact it sometimes works could be down to the file type or the process prior to the printing, I can print from Preview if no "processing" is applied and sometimes it will work even if I do. The only good side is if it does fail you waste no ink because it spits out the paper still blank!
