Q: TvOS update messed with streaming of apps

Since the update of TvOS on my 4th generation Apple TV, I have not been able to stream Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Stars or any other streaming app without it having buffering issues, dropping signal or just not playing at all. I have contacted  my internet provider (Comcast) multiple times to find that my connection to my modem and router are perfectly fine. ( SB1641 Modem and AirPort Extreme). Leave me to believe the only issue has to do with the current update. beef the update never had any issues streaming any content .

Also unable to airplay any content through my Apple TV.

Is there anything that can be done? certain settings the airport extreme needs to be on? is there a bug fix or another update to fix this?

Hi. Have you restarted the ATV, Setting > System > Restart? Are your apps set for automatic updates? Have you tried force quitting the apps, so the get a clean start with the new OS?

AirPlay should be working. If you're using iOS 10, you need to swipe left to access basic AirPlay (not mirroring). Also check you ATV AirPlay settings.

i have restarted the ATV, the router, the modem As well as deleting the apps and re-installing them with no success. I have also force quit the application and refreshed on the new OS.

hhaven't tried the airplay suggestion yet, will do though.

Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network)

    If on wifi try Ethernet

To see a current status of the network get a report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. Look for signal strength, noise, nearby networks

    Test on another network
