Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I see that after installing iOS 10, you are having an issue with getting email coming in. I can understand wanting to get this taken care of as quickly as possible. I'm here to help.
It sounds to me like the Mail app isn't responding. Try to force close the Mail app by double-tapping the home button, and then swiping up to close. Then, open again and try to access a message to see if you get the same result.
For help force closing an app, see this article: Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Oct 2, 2016 11:58 AM in response to brenden dvby SooperDoc,I Tried that as well as uninstalling mail and reloading my different emails. I get mail in the preview screen. When I click on it I get a white backgrounfd only without any of the message it's essentially blank. Any further ideas? seems as though others at the Verizon store have a similar issue regarding mail.

Oct 2, 2016 12:35 PM in response to SooperDocby Starr.C,Hello SooperDoc,
Thanks for trying that step. We have a couple more things for you to try.
First, please make sure that you have a backup of your iPhone's important data using this article: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Then, use this article to restore your iPhone to factory settings: Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings
Once you've restored to factory, set up the iPhone as new. And use Set up an email account on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to set up your email and then test to see if you get the same result.
Additionally, here is an article that will help you restore from your backup: Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings
Have a great day! -
Oct 3, 2016 8:48 AM in response to Starr.Cby SooperDoc,I tried this and its still the same issue. I get email updating in my inbox, but nothing when I look at the specific message. Do you have any other ideas? Are you guys going to release an update to fix this? I have heard this is a pretty common issue.
