Q: Can I choose my preferred trusted device for iCloud two-factor authentication?

I recently set up Icloud two factor authentication, because I like the extra security it adds.

While I usually have my macbook on me, I also have to login on windows pc's every now and then.

Unfortunately ICloud chooses my headless mac mini which I use as a server at home instead of my laptop or Iphone.

I'd like to turn off receiving the confirmation code on that machine, has anyone faced a similar issue?

If so how did you resolve it?

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), iOS 10.0.2, Mac Mini / IPhone 6

Codes go to all trusted devices.

You can of course, remove trusted devices at any time.

It seems that simply logging into your iphone with your apple account doesn't count as logging into icloud with your apple account.

Going into Settings -> iCloud seemed to fix this for me.

There are actually 5 unique "places" on a phone where you can sign it with an Apple ID.

Facetime, Messages, Game Centre, iCloud and the iTunes & App Store.

All the security stuff is done via iCloud.
