Q: Mid-2007 iMac

Hello there! I have  a mid 2007 iMac, and, of course, it is not (officially) supported for macOS Sierra. I have read that a CPU upgrade can give it support, but does anyone know if this is true? Thanks!!

    No, that is not correct.

There are no official CPU upgrades. Even if you replaced the entire motherboard (at great expense), the installer would likely not recognize it and not install Sierra, anyway.

If you have a spare monitor, you might want to consider purchasing a new(er) Mac mini.

Thanks, though to be completely honest, El Capitan is going to be fine for as long as I use this iMac.
