Q: Cannot Install OS X Sierra

Hello,

I downloaded the new software - OS X Sierra but I couldn't install it as my Start Up Disk was full. I couldn't exit this so I am stuck - I can't access anything on my MacBook Air. In hindsigh, I wish I hadn't partitioned my Hard Drive now!

Can anyone help please?

many thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

cheers, Nick

You really have only one option at this point:

    Install Sierra from Scratch

         Backup if possible before continuing.

    1. Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime hold down the Command and R keys until the Apple logo appears. When the Utility Menu appears:
    2. Select Disk Utility from the Utility Menu and click on Continue button.
    3. When Disk Utility loads select the volume (indented entry, usually Macintosh HD) from the Device list.
    4. Click on the Erase icon in Disk Utility's main window. A panel will drop down.
    5. Set the Format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)
    6. Click on the Apply button, then wait for the Done button to activate and click on it.
    7. Quit Disk Utility and return to the Utility Menu.
    8. Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.

Because your disk is full you cannot access it, so you will lose all your files unless you already have a fairly recent backup.

I'm so sorry that I haven't been able to reply before now but I wasn't able to get this page on my MacBook for some reason.

Anyway, just to say a big thank you for your help, it worked well and I appreciate it

There are no ISO files as they are illegal. You can download OS X installers from the App Store, only. Please post your own topic for help and provide much more information. See Writing an effective Apple Support Communities question.
