Q: Boot error  cant find FinderSyncAPIExtention

This has been happening for awhile.  I cant rember it if was doing it with ElCapitan, or just since the Sierra upgrade

but towards the end of the system boot a Choose Application window opens listing all apps.

The question at the top of the window is "Where is FinderSyncAPIExtention"

What is this? How do I fix it?

    Greetings phxpaul10,

Thanks for your post in the Apple Support Communities! I see that after you log into your user account, you're receiving a popup window that states "Where is FinderSyncAPIExtention?" and prompts you to choose an application. I'm happy to help you get this issue solved!

To begin, I'd recommend that you try booting your Mac into safe mode. The title of the article differs from your issue, but the instructions will still be relevant:

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support

If the issue doesn't occur in safe mode, take special note of the following section:

If an issue doesn't happen in safe mode

If an issue doesn't happen when your Mac is started in safe mode, try restarting again without pressing any keys at startup. If the issue appears to be resolved when you start up normally, it was possibly caused by a cache or a directory issue with your startup disk that safe mode fixed.

If you restart your Mac normally and an issue comes back when you reach your desktop, try disabling any login items that automatically open when you log in.

    Take care!

This is a Google Drive extension.

The next time the popup appears, click the Browse button and select the Google Drive Icon in your Applications folder.
