Q: Can you swipe down to widgets by default?

I just bought a new iPhone 7 with iOS 10. On my 5S I was able to swipe down from the top of the screen and automatically bring up the widgets where I had weather at the top. It was perfect because no matter what I was doing all I had to do was swipe down and the weather would appear. Now when I swipe down it defaults to Notifications, which I rarely if ever actually used. I have to then swipe right to open the widgets. Is there any way to make it so you can swipe down to go directly to the widgets instead of being forced to view a blank Notifications page and then swipe right? It now takes twice as long to do the same simple task.

    Hey BKavett,

I understand that you enjoyed using the Today View in iOS 9. The good news is that this feature is still available, but the way you go about accessing it has changed. In order to access the Today View in iOS 10, you swipe from the left edge of the Home screen or Lock screen. Take a look at this link for more information:

Yeah, I know you can do that from the lock screen but if you are using the phone it only works if you are on the first page of the apps. Swiping from the left on any other page just moves to the page before. That's why swiping down was such a useful feature. Is there really no way to stop it from defaulting to Notifications when swiping down? It's just silly that I have to go through an empty page now to get to the weather.
