Q: Tracking iPhone two-factor authentication

Hey.

Let´s say that my iPhone would be stolen and I have the two-factor authentication on, will the thief not be able to see the "log-inn" request?

How does it work with Find my iPhone?

iPhone 6s, iOS 10.0.2

Not if you have enabled Find My Phone which enables activation lock which protects your phone/data.

If you also use a strong passcode, access to your lost/stolen phone is blocked, as is the ability to see/use your 2FA codes.

The actual phone is virtually useless to them for any purpose.

If in lost mode the phones locks down and the person would have to unlock it to see the authentication message. This also happens when your phone is locked with the passcode and your get an authentication message: it asks you to unlock the phone to access the authentication code.

Just tested it with the iPad: when in "Lost Mode" no authentication codes get sent to the device in question.
