Sep 27, 2016 3:53 PM in response to bootslavby sberman,★HelpfulI believe you are referring to Favorites in the Phone app.
Click "Edit" in the upper right. Then you will see three stacked horizontal lines to the right of each favorite phone number. Simply raise or lower by dragging on those three parallel horizontal bars and you can place the phones in the order you like.
This feature has existed for many versions of iOS.

Sep 28, 2016 9:25 AM in response to bootslavby sberman,★HelpfulLet's examine your screen shot, which appears to have three sections, with (1) on the right, (2) in the center, and (3) on the left.
- Pick the correct person from (1), which you seem to have done.
- Choose "Call" from (2), so you get a telephone number instead of an email address in "Favorites".
- Click on "Office" or "Home" in screen (3), so you get the correct phone number in "Favorites".

Sep 28, 2016 9:30 AM in response to sbermanby bootslav,Thank you sberman- how this is the exact issue. I select the preferred number I wish to be in favorites, yet it defaults back to another number. In this case, office when I want mobile.
THis is is an update issue.

Sep 28, 2016 10:45 AM in response to bootslavby sberman,OK. On screen (2), when you select "Call", note that "Office" displays in your screen shot. But there is also a downward arrow displayed on the far right of that row.
Be certain you tap on that downward arrow, so you can see "Mobile". Then tap "Mobile" to place that into your Favorites.
I would say except for occasionally missing this down-arrow myself, I can always select the telephone number I want.

Oct 9, 2016 9:27 PM in response to feldmargaaaby shrimo,Try logging out of iCloud on the device then logging back in. I have heard this works for some cases. I will try this on another phone tonight to see if it fixes my kids problem.

Oct 14, 2016 4:15 AM in response to shrimoby shrimo,Logging out of iCloud didn't work for me.
I have fixed this now on my iPhone 6s. It was due to duplicate contacts from various sources. After a cleanup of contacts including turning some contacts off I have been able to use phone favourites the way I did before iOS10.
