Q: Glitches with watchOS 3

Since updating my iphone 6s to iOS10 and first-gen Apple Watch to watchOS 3, some functions on the watch seem to be working oddly. Examples:

  • I'm currently running the Activity Analog face, with the three rings separated at the 6, 9, and 12 positions. Most days, the rings will simply disappear from the watch face and leave only the numbers behind. I.e. if I've stood for 6 hours, my blue activity ring will be missing but the number 6 will still be there. I have to restart the watch to fix this.
  • When phone calls or text messages come to my phone, they sometimes do not alert me on the watch. I have haptics set on maximum (though not the prominent haptic pre-alert), and before the updates both always alerted me with no issues.

Has anyone else experienced these issues?

Happening frequently actually. Going to try unpairing and reaping to see if that helps.

    Hi

Keep in mind that how notifications behave depends on the status of your devices and your settings. In order to bring notifications to your attention as soon as possible:

    • If your iPhone is unlocked, you will receive notifications on your iPhone instead of on your watch.
    • If your iPhone is locked or asleep and your watch is unlocked (regardless of whether the watch screen is asleep or awake), you will receive notifications on your watch.
    • If your watch is locked or has Do Not Disturb enabled, notifications will go to your iPhone.

Same issue for me, iPhone 6S upgraded to last iOS 10 and Apple Watch 2 running iOS 3.

    - Phone calls are not forwarded to Apple Watch

    - Some notifications does not wake up the watch nor generate vibrations.

I have gone through plenty of verifications even not relevant (iPhone is not unlocked, Do not disturb is not active, Hardware reboot of both iPhone and Watch, checked all notifications settings, Hand off active, Wifi On, Bluetooth On, Cloud On, ...) . There is no code set on the Watch so it can't be active. The watch is worn.

Notifications are OK in general and i get them on the Watch.

Phone calls are possible from the watch.

SMS/iMessages are working correctly all the time.

No calls forwarding from iPhone to Apple Watch (many testings from same or different provider).

Sometimes notifications does not wake up the watch and no vibration occur. But the notification is there as when i wake up the watch, the red dot is lighted and the missed call is in the list (occurs all the time for missed calls).

Any idea ? or iOS 10 bug ?

I have the same issue.  Since moving to my new iPhone 7 (and iOS10), I'm having issues with notifications.  My email client (Spark) seems to send them through without any problems that I've noticed.  However, notifications for iMessages are sporadic, and I very rarely get notifications for calls (and when I do they're very delayed).

Well, it seems to work for the moment by doing this :

    - i have unpaired the Apple Watch from the iPhone

    - then repaired it

    - and restored from existing backup

    - Wait for everything to install again (including apps loading).

I have not tried to change any setting from the restoration.

Now i receive calls on the watch and hope it will continue to work.
