Q: iPhone 7 animation lag...

Just picked up my iPhone 7 32GB.. Noticed a lagg when opening and closing a app for the first time.

When i press the home button and open the app again all goes smooth..
Already talked to Apple support, they suggested to restore to factory with IOS 10.0.1 and not to restore any backups.
Just did that, still lagg...  Bit disappointment, my iPhone 6 was smoother..

Anybody else this issue? Must be! Check it out really good, I think this is gonne be reported alot!

iPhone 7, iOS 10, null

No. Still there is lag. Even when restored to default with all those settings turned off (its off by default) there is still an animation lag. No one can fix or bypass this issue beside Apple fixing this asap!

Mine does this exact same thing. I actually did a DFU restore and am using it without my back up because it was so slow closing apps. I am waiting for a fix so I can restore my back up of my 6s plus that worked perfectly! Still does right now. I have the 7 256gb matte black. I noticed it immediately when I restored my back up on the way home from the Apple store on release day. My wife got a 7 256gb in gold and her back up is not as bad as mine. She was lucky. Mine on set up as new with no back up is equal to hers on her back up lag wise but with my back up restored its like in slow motion when closing apps. She can do the thing where you can open and close apps real quick and it looks cool but mine with my back up on you can't even do that, it has to completely open then delay then close. Her's can open and close before it actually opens all the way. mine will too but only in set up as new. I would really like to have my back up on my new phone so I can have all my apps and pics.

I think there are 2 different issues being discussed here. There is a glitch in graphics, most often seen when closing an app to go back to the home screen, by pressing the home button. The usually smooth "zoom" transition has a stutter towards the start. You see this stutter in various other places too at times. Then there is the issue of the TIME it takes to get back to the home screen, which I think some are calling the lag. This is caused by a setting that allows more than one click to do something, like Magnifier or a number of other accessibilty settings. I think this is normal. The system has to wait a little bit to see whether you are going to press more than once.

I agree this is an issue Apple will need to fix, but I am curious if anyone experiences a "smoother" experience (not a fix) if under accessibility - home button and change from default to slow.

Call it placebo, but on 2 different phones I changed it from default to slow and the animation lag is almost negligible, yet still not as smooth as it is/was on my 6s.

LIke many others, I have grown to expect and have become accustom to the iPhone providing a powerful and smooth experience.

I find it to be the same. the only real thing that makes it smoother is enabling reduced transparency. but by doing that. it just removes the transition all together. and im not a fan of the fade in fade out transition. its smooth yes but there is a delay one say opening the app and it accepting input (swipes or presses)

    Same problem here.

    iPhone 7 128GB matt black.

Take a look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLp6xWnCJJc

It actually helps a little on my phone.

When i close an app for the first time the lag is there but after the app has been reopened and closed the animation is smooth now.

But i definitely think Apple needs to fixs this as soon as possible.

The bug makes the user experience of a brand new phone bad

your video still shows it lags even when you turned off the zoom feature.

how many people are going to keep posting about toggling zoom and triple clicking fixing this.  it does not.  does not even help make it smoother.
