Q: No signal iPhone 7 plus

I Was able to find an iPhone 7 plus black, worked well all day went to sleep and next morning no cell signal actual message was No Service.  Tried resetting network services, remove the SIM card, resetting the phone.  Tried same sim in another phone and it works.  Seems to be a similar,at issue to those with the airplane mode issue.  Now there is no stock of the phone I want and I'm stuck with a dead paper weigh.  Any ideas?

The work-around mentioned in this tread worked for me today. The work-around disabling voice in LTE by changing enable LTE from voice and data to data located in settings - cellular - cellular data options- enable LTE. I used my GPS for an hour and a half and I did not experience the dreaded no service. Before changing this setting, I would recieve no service many times during my drive on the iPhone 7. I switched the setting back when I was done using the GPS on the iPhone 7. Hopefully Apple will release a fix for this issue.

    Hey ccarrieta171!

This could be a few different things. The iPhone 7 has had a few reports of defective antennas, however there are some troubleshooting steps may resolve the issue if it's not hardware related. Try running through the steps here to see if its software related first: If you can't connect to a cellular network or cellular data - Apple Support

If the above steps don't help resolve the issue but you have an old/spare iPhone available, you can try removing that SIM card and transferring it to the old device. If the old device connects to the cell network, that confirms a hardware on the iPhone 7. See an Authorized Apple Retailer for assistance or possible replacement (this service should be covered by warrantee based on personal experience!).

Note: Below are some advanced user steps. If you are uncomfortable trying them out, visit a Genius Bar for help!

To swap the SIM card, get an object like a paper clip. Holding your iPhone 7, turn it so you are looking at the right side (wake/sleep button facing you). Locate the small circle and push the paperclip with moderate force to remove the SIM card holder. Carefully remove the SIM chip inside. Repeat these steps with the other iPhone and place the SIM chip into the holder, and then the phone. The device should connect without restarting the device.

If you suspect a hardware issue, set up an appointment through the Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider: https://getsupport.apple.com/

there is a hardware and/or software problem. all around the world. why give this tier (0) customer advice.

you pay £780 for a phone that can't use 4G.

    Honestly.....

iPhone 7 has the issue. probably os10 has it

apple customer service offer to replace phone. shame they don't have it in stock....

my temporary one plus 3 and old iPhone 6 got signal where my iPhone 7 doesn't

stop advising useless iTunes restoring, network resetting and similar......

This is due to the fact that they forgot to mention in the keynote address from Apple, that they changed to Modem Chip to INTEL. I believe QUALCOMM was the original chipset. Only a certain percentage of the new iPhones have the new INTEL chipset. Hmmm... I wonder how many?

Look it up on google for the full story: "modem chipset in iPhone 7"

    VIOLA !

iPhone 7's with the Intel modem are the GSM models. Verizon and Sprint models have the Qualcomm modems. However, this seems to be widespread regardless of the modem as both Intel and Qualcomm phones are affected.

The same thing is happening on AT&T.  I live in an area of so-so signal.  My 5s works fine.  My new 7 hardly works at all.  It also drops calls in areas of reasonably good service.  Have tried everything mentioned, including new SIM card.  In desperation have put the new SIM back in my 5s, which is working normally.  Must be intrinsic to the phone.

I am having this same issue.  My first iPhone 7 was getting a "no SIM card installed" error so I went to Verizon and they replaced the SIM.  Told me that if it kept happening, it was probably a SIM reader issue and the phone would need to be replaced.  I monitored it really closely over the next week and was constantly getting the "no service" error up to 10x on my commute to and from work, all while using Waze.  It is really obvious when you lose signal while using GPS.  After a few miles of driving, service would usually come back.

I wanted to replace my phone within the 14-day warranty window so I took it to Verizon and asked it to be replaced.

Got the replacement iPhone 7 within a week and guess what?  Still getting the same error.  So glad to find this forum to know that I'm not crazy, but I don't know if they would replace my phone again.  Hoping there is a software fix I can try because I'm tired of switching phones.

I Had tried a few things to get my 4g back. Up until now only way it would was powering off phone and turning back on.

Tried setting 4g to data only , this would keep it on 4g longer.

As soon as I tried this turning off of automatic carrier my 4g came back instantly.

Will see how it goes and report back if it drops again.

Same problem with my iPhone 5.  fixed mine (twice now) by going to Settings, Cellular and turning data roaming off and then on again.  Good luck.

I had same issue (dropped coverage while using navigation apps).

Verizon Wireless (and Apple) finally knows this is an issue.  They said Verizon and Apple working on it.  For now, the solution is to turn off HD Voice (go to Settings --> Cellular --> Cellular Data Options --> Enable LTE --> Data Only)

Once they fix the issue, you can switch back to Voice & Data

I made this change and it worked!  No more dropped coverage while using navigation apps with my new iPhone 7

I can use Waze without any issues with my new iPhone 7

This workaround seems to be working for me as well.  How will we know when they do fix the issue?  I already have problems with reception in my house and not looking forward to using 3G for voice calls.

Unfortunately this does not seem to work as a fix on AT&T.  I have tried all the: LTE off, LTE data only, and LTE voice and Data settings over and over again and none of them fix the No Service problem.

My 7 shows No Service about 70% of the time in all the areas where my 6+ gets 2 to 3 bars and has fine connectivity.  In a very strong signal area, it will suddenly pop up with service and show 5 bars LTE, but even there the speed and connectivity are terrible with SpeedTest showing Down Load Speed of 0.7 Mbps and Up Load Speed of 0.07  Mbps.  Ping times are bad to just ok 842 ms to 83 ms.

This is my second iPhone 7 as Apple already swapped it once.

I am going to Apple Store tonight after work to try and get a second swap, on the theory that this is still only effecting some iPhone 7's and not all of them.

Seems like hardware issue to me, possibly the antenna bands that doesn't exist anymore with combination of a poor internal components, i had returned mine today. Will wait for a few weeks or just gonna get an iPhone 6s instead, I wish I never sold my beloved 6 , was working great without any problems for almost 2 years. There are so many complaints about this problems that trouble might be bigger than anyone expect, hopefully not and software update can fix it but I don't want to wait.
