Q: Is 3D Touch different on iPhone 6s and iPhone 7

Hello,

On iPhone 6s, I'm able to control the animation on the lock screen wallpaper using different pressure. If I press harder, it moves faster. When I release my finger slowly, the animated follows the pressure of my finger in reverse.

However on iPhone 7, the various pressures has no effect on the animation speed. For example, when I release the pressure slowly on the screen, the animation remains unmoved. It only revert once I completely lift my finger.

Both are Plus models. I've tried reselecting the wallpaper to a still and back to animated on the iPhone 7 but there's no effect. Is this a software change or hardware issue?

Regards

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.0.2

    Hey weeue,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I can see that you're having a different experience using 3D touch on your iPhone 7 Plus then you previously had with your iPhone 6s Plus. This may be a result of the sensitivity but you can verify and adjust this to your liking with the information in the link below.

Change 3D Touch sensitivity on your iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, or iPhone 7 Plus

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers.

Thanks Darren. The case does not involve sensitivity setting of 3D Touch.

I've tested this on other iPhone 7 in stores and confirmed that the behaviour is consistent with my iPhone 7.

There is indeed a change in the way animated wallpaper reacts to varying degree of finger pressure. The animation no longer follows a soft/hard press/lift of the finger.
