If you can't activate your iPhone - Apple Support
If you get an alert about the SIM card in your iPhone - Apple Support
Use a SIM PIN for your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

I am having the same problem on my Sprint iPhone 7. Have you been able to figure anything out? If I restart my device I will get service for about 20-30 minutes but then I will get the "SIM Failed" error.
